Liking

We have been in Costa Rica for 3 weeks.  We are finishing our 3rd week of training and packing for our first out of site visit to another Peace Corps Volunteer (PCV) couple.  I am excited to get out and see more of Costa Rica.

I have had my ups and downs since getting here.  Mostly because of missing my friends and family AND frustration because of the language barrier (my Spanish is slowly improving).  Luckily, I am able to communicate more with our host family and feel more connected with them and our fellow Peace Corps Trainees (PCT).

A common sight from our classroom window

We are living in a two bed room apartment with our Tico family.  We have our parents and a 7 year old brother.  We have approximately a 2 km walk to our main training site.  The Hubs has to commute to a neighboring site for Spanish lessons and teaching in the local colegio (high school) three times a week.  I have Spanish classes at our main training site but ride a bus to a different neighboring site to teach in that local primary school.  We are teaching English at the schools (which is what our main objective will be after we swear in as PCV).

Well, it is dinner and the little (Tico) bro is ready to eat.
Thank you for the prayers, comments, and thoughts.  They are definitely treasured and appreciated.
